Factors such as extensive revisions, English as a second language (ESL), highly technical subject matter, or other specialized editing needs may affect the final quote. Manuscripts requiring substantially more editorial work than is typical for the requested service, or additional editing rounds, may be quoted at a higher rate. A sample edit and/or manuscript review is typically required before a final estimate is provided.
